  Amateur Radio Operator Classes and Testing Schedule

SCHEART will be offering Ham (Amateur) Radio classes in September

All classes will be running from Sept 16  through 20th.

If you are going for your GENERAL you have to use the new General course that was published July 1 2019
All classes will be held at SCETV headquarters, 1041 George Rogers Blvd. Columbia, SC. from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
All classes are free. If you wish to attend, please RSVP to MidlandsVE@gmail.com.

Testing will be offered on Sept 21th at 08:55am. Please bring a photo ID, An original and copy of any Ham Radio license and $10.00 cash. If a child is testing and has no photo I.D., bring a copy of a birth certificate.

It is suggested that you purchase a study book from either the ARRL or Gordon West for the license level you are trying for.  Study the book before you attend the classroom sessions.

All activities will be held at SCETV, 1041 George Rogers Boulevard. Columbia SC.

Classes and testing provided by SC Midlands VE Team

Walk-ins welcome, pre-registration not required but please sign up so that we know how much testing materials to bring.

  • Picture ID (Drivers License, military ID, etc.)
  • Original and copy of any Amateur license currently held if trying for an upgrade
  • Testing fee: $10ºº – cash only – exact amount, please
