Join the club/pay dues online

We can now take dues payments via our website. Also, both our president and treasurer can process credit cards at meetings and club events with a mobile card reader. The club is using PayPal connected directly to CARC’s Wells Fargo account to handle these transactions.

If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact Andy, kk4dsd@arrl.net.

Club ID badges

If you still need a CARC photo ID badge, please e-mail Dave, W4DMC, at david@calhounems.org. Be sure to indicate your name and callsign and attach a photo of yourself (a headshot in front of a neutral background).

Statewide emergency exercise

From 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM starting Monday March 14 and concluding on Tuesday March 15, the state will be conducting its annual full scale exercise involving communications. This year exercise centers on an earthquake with an epicenter near Summerville. ARES, RACES and AUXCOMM members are highly encouraged to check into nets, conducted local training and exercise local response plans. This Full Scale Exercise is open to all Amateur Radio Stations around the state and please consider checking into one of the nets to check out your equipment and try your simplex coverage. Local Counties ARES/RACES groups may be conducting local exercises so please check with your ARES Emergency Coordinator to see what is planned for your county.

March 19 workshop: Antenna/Balun build

Our March workshop will be an antenna build hosted by Bill, W4FSV, at the Calhoun County EOC. Participants will build a ferrite core 4:1 current balun, which can then be used to create an off-center fed dipole, OR a loop antenna. The cost to build the balun is $10. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
